Michael Hawley has been appointed to the Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) Board of Trustees. Madelyn Caple and Violeta Moser have been reappointed to the CPCC board.
Appointed by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, Hawley's four-year term as a CPCC trustee began Aug. 16. A Charlotte attorney, Hawley is a partner/of counsel with K&L Gates LLP. A graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Florida College of Law, Hawley worked in banking and investments and as a visiting law professor prior to joining K&L Gates (formerly Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman) in 1983.
In addition to the CPCC board, Hawley serves a number of other organizations, including the World Affairs Council of Charlotte, the CPCC Foundation, E4 Carolinas Inc., Energy Hub Initiative, Charlotte Regional Partnership, and others.
Caple, the regional managing director for the Carolina West Region of Wells Fargo Private Bank, was reappointed to the CPCC board for a four-year term by the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners. She has been affiliated with Wells Fargo and its predecessor firms for more than 29 years performing in various capacities in several markets. She earned a bachelor's degree in finance and real estate from Florida State University and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.
Caple first joined the CPCC Board of Trustees in 2013. Her other community leadership and service include the MeckEd board, Women's Impact Fund board, and the Myers Park High School Foundation board.
Moser, the executive director of the Latin American Women's Association (LAWA), a non-profit organization that supports the educational advancement of Latinos in the Charlotte Region, was reappointed to the CPCC board for a four-year term by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board. She has worked in the banking industry and served as a senior bilingual consultant for a Charlotte-based multicultural training company. Before directing LAWA, she worked for a market research company as a business partner with a concentration in the Hispanic-Latino market. She earned a bachelor's degree in business and education from Montclair State University in New Jersey.
Moser first became a CPCC trustee in 2013. She also serves on the Wingate University Board of Trustees and on the education committee of the Mint Museum.
