Emergency Fund

Central Piedmont's Emergency Fund provides short-term financial support to students and employees experiencing financial emergencies. In this period of transition and insecurity, those economically-vulnerable and insecure members of our college family require support and assistance to a degree never before experienced.

As a result of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Central Piedmont has witnessed an increase in the number of students and employees needing resources to sustain their everyday life. Thankfully, the college's Emergency Fund was already in place and prepared to quickly address the emotional and financial well-being of the college's community members.

When you
make a gift to this fund, you make an immediate impact - within 24-48 hours - as evidenced by the distribution of funds process outlined below:

More than $200,000 in support has been distributed to provide for technology, tuition, books, and emergency fund grants to students and employees in response to the need created by or exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Technology assistance via 852 Chromebooks and WiFi hotspots has been provided for currently enrolled/spring semester students between March 9 and June 30, 2020.

I am so grateful for [this assistance]. Because of COVID-19 my semester was jeopardized, and I would not have been able to successfully complete the year. Thanks to the emergency grant, I am able to pay my rent and finish the semester strong.                                                                                          - Lauren Z.
